Support the Swan’s Island Library & Community Center

Wayne Lemoine Legacy Fund

Wayne was part of the magic of Swan’s Island. He loved life; he lived for this island community. The fund supports everything we offer to children – our after-school art club, summer programming that combines learning and art, and a wide array of materials for children including books, movies, toys, computer games, and more.

Buy a Brick

Please help the Library “Pave the Way to the Future” by purchasing a brick. The bricks line the walkway to the internet porch. Your generosity will ensure that our building lasts for generations to come.

If you would like to purchase a plaque for the library garden, please contact us and individually to create a custom design.

Support our endowment

Donations

Your gifts secure our future! Purchase an engraved brick for our new walkway, a plaque for a granite stone, or a granite bench. You can also pay for current, operating expenses. Gifts of any amount are gratefully received to support either the operating fund or the endowment.

Financial Stewards

Since the new library opened, we have been careful stewards of the support we receive from the community, foundations, and the Town of Swan’s Island. On average, our income exceeds expenses by a slim margin of about $3,000 – a rainy day fund.

Gifts of Time

Our staffing is bare bones. Two part-time staff and a very part-time cleaner, and 30+ volunteers form our operations team. Volunteers staff the circulation desk, shelve books, plan and conduct events and programs, help manage our finances, and oversee building maintenance. We are a community organization fueled by the energy of community members.
